Virgil Lee Ward, 89 of Washington, IN passed away November 23, 2018 in Washington.
He was born June 29, 1929 in Daviess County to the late George Jr. and Mildred (Davis) Ward. A 1947 graduate of Glendale High School, Virgil served Twenty years in the U.S. Navy, Ten years in The Naval Fleet Reserve during Vietnam and NSWC Crane for Fourteen years. He married Mary Lou (Catt) on December 12, 1974. She preceded him in death on September 22, 1996.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington, and a Life Member of the V.F.W. He is survived by; a Daughter, Jaqueline Lynn Ward; a Son, Steven Douglas Ward; Four Grandchildren; a Sister, Edith Helms; Cousins, Richard (Carol) Killion, Betty Pride and Joan Holstine. He was preceded in death by his Parents and a Sister, Mary Vonlue McEwen. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Gill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
