E-911 Advisory Board discussed by county commissioners

The Daviess County Commissioners spent time discussing the establishment of an E-911 Advisory Board on Monday.

Commissioner Nathan Gabhart said the purpose of such a board would be to coordinate emergency communication and emergency dispatch in the county and city of Washington as well as provide a closer watch on E911 expenditures and funds.   Commissioner Tom McCracken was opposed to forming a board saying he didn’t think it was necessary.  Commissioner Michael Taylor was absent from Monday’s meeting.

Both Gabhart and McCracken agreed more study is needed on any proposed ordinance to form a board.  Gabhart however, said action on the issue is needed before the end of the year.
