Small Business Saturday

Today is Small Business Saturday. It’s a day meant to bring attention to the small retailers in your community by promoting the notion that shopping small is BIG.

We are in an age where more retail every day is being done online which does hurt your local businesses operated by your friends and neighbors. Many businesses are having specials today throughout the listening area and participating in small business Saturday promotions. So, before going online, or to the big box store, check out your local retailer in your community’s business district.

Davies County Chamber of Commerce Director Samantha Bobbitt told the Washington Times Herald this week that it’s important for businesses to differentiate themselves from the internet noise.  Small Business Saturday she said is a way and a day to find a connection with customers and build relationships that makes them want to come back after the holiday hype.

The Odon Business Alliance today has a passport program highlighting businesses in their area.
