Hazel L. Pielemeier, 91, of Loogootee, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 25, 1927 in Daviess County, near Loogootee, Indiana to the late Herman and Emilie (Albaugh) Pielemeier.
Hazel received her education at Loogootee Schools, Vincennes University and Indiana University. She taught Home Economics at Bruceville High School, Shoals High School and finally Loogootee High School where she retired.
She was a lifelong member of the Loogootee United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She also enjoyed being a part of the Marco Singers. She was active in the Martin County 4-H for many years.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Emilie (Albaugh) Pielemeier; siblings, Carl Pielemeier, Bob Pielemeier and Helen Pielemeier.
She is survived by her brothers, Roy Pielemeier and Bill (Jeanette) Pielemeier; nieces and nephews, Terry (Janet) Pielemeier, Alan (Cindy) Pielemeier, Jay (Kari) Pielemeier, Dean (Vicki) Pielemeier, Robert (Brenda) Pielemeier, Annette (Mark) Bohnert, Janice Pielemeier, Shannon Pielemeier and Marlene Pielemeier.
A joint memorial service for Hazel and Helen Pielemeier will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Loogootee United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
No visitation will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Loogootee United Methodist Church or the Hindostan United Methodist in memory of Herman and Emilie Pielemeier.
