Hazel Qualkenbush Moore-Cornett

Hazel Qualkenbush Moore-Cornett age 98, of Shoals, passed away November 4, 2018 at the Loogootee Healthcare and Rehab in Loogootee.
She was born June 20, 1920 in Martin County to James and Vina (Putnam) Qaulkenbush. She married Earl Moore on June 2, 1978 in French Lick and he preceded in death in 1998.
She attended Orange County Schools, was a member of the Shoals Christian Church where she was Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She also attended Elon Christian Church in French Lick and Moores Ridge Methodist Church in French Lick. Hazel sang for many years in a ladies quartet.

She worked for Fresignheinst Dry Goods Store and managed a dry-cleaning business in Shoals, was an employee of the Alco Dime Store in French Lick and retired in 1993 from the Midwest Inn in Paoli, which she managed.

She is survived by three daughters, Sara Jane (Jim) Marshall of Shoals, Elizabeth (John) Chattin of Shoals, Charleen Tarr of French Lick; one grandson, Aaron (Crystal) Tarr of Shoals and two granddaughters, Olivia Grace and Peyton Elizabeth Tarr.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, two sisters Helen Payne and Ruth Stout and two brothers James Qualkenbush and Gene Qualkenbush.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with Rev. Matthew Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at the Moores Ridge Methodist Cemetery in Orange County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Queen-Lee Chapel.
