Rita M. (Lannan) Weaver, 91, of Loogootee passed away on Friday October 26, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 12, 1927 in Whitfield, Indiana to Samuel P. and Dolah M. (Haag) Lannan.
Rita graduated from St. John High School. She was a member of the St John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Rita was a member of the V.F.W Ladies Auxillary and American Legion. She was a former member of the Circle of Peace Prayer Group, and the D of I, Daughters of Isabella. Rita loved flowers and gardening, and in her later years she enjoyed playing Bingo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Samuel P. and Dolah M, her first husband, John G. Strange, and then her husband Dewey Weaver, one grandchild, Philip Todd and her siblings; Hubert, Murl, Bernard, Ruth Ann, Lois, and Millie.
Rita is survived by her children; Steve (Carla) Strange in Peru, In, Sam Strange (Andrea Nordoff) of Loogootee, Cathy (Phil) Todd of Loogootee, John (Victoria) Strange of Jasper, Nancy (Bob) Consley of Loogootee, her step-children; Sandy Boger of Washington, Dan (Laurie) Weaver of Jasper, In, 10 Grandchildren, 8 Step- Grandchildren, 19 Great- Grandchildren, 14 Step- Great- Grandchildren, one Great- Great Grandchild due in November, siblings; Kay Hughes, Norbert R. Lannan, Mike Lannan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker, with Con-celebrant Father Leo Kiesel, and Deacon Bob Consley assisting at 10:00 Tuesday October 30, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Martin Cemetery in Whitfield.
Visitation will be held Monday October 29, 201w from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
