Conservation officers have released details of an off road accident resulting in serious injury which happened this past Sunday.

The DNR says 56-year-old Terry Jones of Petersburg was on a 2012 Honda TRX420 4-wheeler in the 2600 block of East 475 North in Pike County at 8:19 on Sunday night.  His vehicle hit a dog, and Jones lost control and it rolled over.

Jones and his passenger, 39-year-old Candace Parks of Huntingburg were ejected. Both were flown to Deaconess in Evansville.  Jones was said to still be in critical condition there. Parks was treated and released.

Officers say no safety equipment was used while the two were riding which they say was a contributing factor to the injuries.
