After four hours of deliberations, a Gibson County Jury has acquitted 21 year old Anthony Christian Hoskins in the Feburary 7th shooting death of Steve Hess, the Co-Manager of the Diplomat Motel in Oakland City.

The jury heard two days of testimony in the case and in the end Hoskins was found to be not guilty of all charges.  The defense had argued that Hoskins shot Hess in the motel parking lot self-defense .  The Princeton Daily Clarion  www.pdclarion.com   says that testimony in the case centered on whether Hoskins’ sister and his friend had violated the motel’s policy prohibiting drug use in their motel room.   Hoskins had said Hess had come at him with a baseball bat during a dispute.

Hoskins’ defense attorney broke into tears when the verdict was read.
