Arthur Stoll, 88, of Montgomery, passed away at 11:34 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at home with his family by his side.

He was born December 19, 1929 in Daviess County, Indiana to the late Abraham and Lizzie (Stoll) Stoll.

Art married Lydia (Wagler) Stoll on August 9, 1956 and she survives.

He was a charter member of Providence Mennonite Church which was started as a mission church in the west end of Washington. He loved teaching Sunday school and enjoyed a good debate. He was active with the Mennonite Disaster Service and Mennonite Canner (MCC) for many years. He also was active in the Habitat for Humanity.

Art worked as an orderly at Daviess County Hospital for 11 years, before he became a carpenter with his brother, Bud. He also loved farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Lizzie Stoll; siblings, Anna Barbara Wagler, Sylvia Graber, Abraham (Bud) Stoll and Ivan Stoll.

Art is survived by his wife, Lydia Stoll of Montgomery; daughters, Pamela (Bobby) Brooks, Rhonda Horns, both of Washington and Angela (Marty) Graber of Montgomery; special daughter, Teresa Lundergan of Washington; grandchildren, Elijah (Dana) Stoll, Lizzie Mae (Jace) Sparks, Tess (Amos) Stephens, Cornell (Monica) Brooks, Tammy Stoll, Olivia (Jimmy) Snepp, Aaron Graber and friend, Abby Walls, Austin Graber; great-grandchildren, Tasha Terell, Kyra Stoll, Shamya Stoll, Cohen Sparks, Kaysen Arthur Sparks, Laurie Hargrove, Teoria Brooks, Tyler Lashley, Jayce Perkins and Dravin Whaley; great-great-grandchildren, Amaya, Zayden and Zander; siblings, Lester (Maryann) Stoll of Auburn, AL and Pauline Stoll of Washington; sisters-in-law, Shirley Stoll of Washington and Linda Stoll of Washington; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Providence Mennonite Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Disaster Service in memory of Art.
