The NBC News/Marist Poll shows Democrat Joe Donnelly holding the head-to-head advantage over Republican Mike Braun in their race for the U-S Senate. The incumbent Senator is backed by 49 percent of the likely voters. 43 percent say they’ll vote for the challenger, Braun. Seven percent are undecided. Libertarian candidate Lucy Brenton will also be on the ballot–with minimal support. But she could a spoiler. The polls shows her cutting the Donnelly-Braun spread to within the margin of error.

Meanwhile, The Indiana Debate Commission says all of the free tickets are taken for the first debate featuring Donnelly and Braun.  More than 400 tickets were made available for the Oct. 8 event, which will be held on the campus of Purdue University Northwest, in the northern Indiana city of Westville.  The debate will be held at 7 p.m. EDT, or 6 p.m. local time in much of northwest Indiana.  It is the first of two onstage meetings between Donnelly and Braun. Libertarian Lucy Brenton will also be part of the debate.  The second debate will Oct. 30 in Indianapolis. Tickets for that event also are no longer available.
