Resident complains of high weeds

city-of-washington-4

-The Washington City Council heard from Rusty Traylor at a regular meeting last night.  He is concerned about the high weeds on a section of an undeveloped platted City Street abutting his property.  The Council agreed to have City workers clean up the undeveloped Street.  Traylor also asked if the City would vacate the street so he could add it to his property and maintain it after the clean up.  However, Traylor was told that will take a special process.

At last night’s The Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, the Board approved a request from the White Steamer to hold a street dance on September 29.   They also approved closing Main Street from the west side of East Second Street  to Meridian and East First next to the Steamer during the dance.

The Board also approved a request from Linda Cornelius to hold the annual Veterans Day Parade at 4 pm on Veterans Day.  The Parade will begin at the Library and continue Down Main and N.E. 7th to Washington High School.

The Board also approved position changes for employees at the Water and Waste Water Departments.
