Washington Police investigated two incidents on Sunday where toddlers were on the streets unsupervised.      The first call came in from West Main at 8:09-am when a witness said a two year old boy was running around without a parent.  Police arrived to find the boy with two women who did not know who the parent was and contact was made with area residents but no one recognized the child.  Child Protective Services were contacted and arrived on scene.  About that time, the boy’s mother called police to report the child missing.  The mother met police at the police station and she and the boy were released with CPS.

The 2nd occurrence was reported at 10:24-am Sunday when a small child wearing only a diaper and t-shirt was seen with no adult around.  The call came in from a residence on 100-east.  Officers found the parent who said the child had gotten out of a home while the parent was sleeping.  Police reports say it did not appear to be a neglect issue and the Department of Child Services was notified
