Woman jailed for Child Solicitation

-Arrest reports say a Washington woman was jailed Friday charged with Child Solicitation and Making an Unlawful Proposition.  Bond for 22-year-old Margaret Dant was set at $7500.

 -A Loogootee woman was arrested by Loogootee Police Friday on a warrant.  36-year-old Joy M. Grace was taken to the Martin County Jail.

 –A motorist involved in an accident fled the scene on foot and was captured, meanwhile at the same location; a passing motorist was arrested for nearly hitting a First Responder on that scene.  The accident was reported at 10:23pm Friday on 57 and Center near Family Video.  A vehicle hit a utility pole knocking power lines down resulting city power workers and the fire department being called.  There were several people in the vehicle and one ran from the scene according to police logs.  City Officers captured him and he was identified as Pedro Guzman Lopez and was charged with two counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated including with .15% or Higher and Endangering a Person.  He was also charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Operating While Never Licensed and Possession of a False Government ID.   As authorities were working the accident, police reports state that a passing motorist nearly struck a firefighter.  After pursuing and stopping the car, the driver, Jarrett B. Shuetz was taken to the security center charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Refusal and OVWI with Endangerment. 

-Police reports say an accident last night involved a vehicle flipping over, but the driver fled the scene on foot.  That was reported at 11:39-pm from North 100 West 300-North.  Police logs state the vehicle flipped and Air Evac medical helicopter was called and was on standby and later told to disregard.  The driver, said to be wearing, a white t-shirt, jeans and a hat was seen running from the accident scene.  The investigation is continuing.

 -Authorities worked an accident without injuries on Hastings Street in Montgomery last night.  He was reported just after 6-pm.
