Mary Elizabeth Fowler, 92, of Loogootee, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at her home.

She was born August 6, 1925 in Kentland, Indiana to the late Martin and Vera (Littlejohn) Tuberty.

Mary married William Fowler June 9, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2001.

She was a registered nurse for 40 plus years and enjoyed taking care of others. She was a member of the Nursing Corp. during World War II.

Mary loved playing cards and bingo, volunteering on the election board and singing at local nursing homes. She was member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for 50 years and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. While an active member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church she participated in the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fowler and her brother, Charles Tuberty.

Mary is survived by her children, Julie (Larry) Sutton of Loogootee, Janice Jestes of Cookeville, TN, Jane (Gib) Fugate of West Lafayette, Chuck (Sandy) Fowler of Noblesville, Joyce (Wendell) Haywood of Sebring, FL and Jennifer (Darin) Butler of Shoals; grandchildren, Angie (Jeff) Brookshire, Mark (Andi) Sutton, Brian (Amanda) Sutton, Stephanie (Chris) Vise, Rachel (Willie) Smith, Ronnie (April) Jestes, Andy (Leanna) Jestes, Mellisa (Greg) Dobson, Michael (Lesley) Conn, Tyler Conn, Brant (Miale) Fowler, Sara (Joel) Pacheco, Seth (Missy) Haywood, Kayla Butler and Kaden Butler; 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa Logan of Francisville, IN and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker and concelebrant, Rev. Joseph Erbacher at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Goodland, Indiana.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hearts Hospice.
