The man accused in a fatal shooting in Daviess County a little over a year ago has pleaded guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter.

55-year-old Mark Jonathan Jones was originally charged with murder after the June 2nd 2017 incident at a residence south of GPC on County Road 475 South.  A news release issued by the Sheriff’s Department at the time says they were called at just before 2-pm that day by 54-year-old Mark Jonathan Jones who told officers a subject at his residence had been shot.  Chief Deputy Gary Allison then reported that that 67-year-old David Duncan had gone there to retrieve some property, an argument ensued and shots were fired.  Duncan died in the incident.

Jones appeared before Superior Judge Dean Sobecki yesterday pleading to Voluntary Manslaughter.  Sentencing is September 24th.  He could receive up to 20 years in prison.
