Local historian Richard Day will be presented the coveted Spirit of 76 Award from city officials in Vincennes.   Richard has been historian and interpreter of the Old French House, past employee at the Lewis Historic Collection at Vincennes University, and most currently in multiple roles at the Vincennes State Historic Sites. He has worked previously at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park and has served on the Historic Review Board for the City.  That’s only a short list of Day’s work in local history.   Day is also a fixture of reenactment having portrayed several significant historical fixtures prominent to Knox County and Indiana history.

The Vincennes City Council will present Day with the award at their Monday night meeting.  The public is welcome to attend.
