Monroe City boil order

It’ll take a couple more samples and a couple more days before a boil order in a part of Monroe City is lifted.

The water boil order was put in place yesterday in the area of Johnson and West 7th Streets.

Monroe City Water Superintendent Rick Leech says the boil order is a precautionary measure put in place after a fire hydrant was replaced.  He took a sample of water to a lab in Jasper today and will do so again tomorrow.  Again the boil order in the area of Johnson and West 7th Streets in Monroe City remains in effect as a precautionary measure.
