Woman caught after accident and charged with theft

A woman was arrested after a theft investigation Monday afternoon. Washington Police were informed about a purse taken from a vehicle parked at Tractor Supply in Washington.  Reports say the alleged thief took the purse while leaving another purse behind.  Police reports say 44-year-old Amy Roe of Washington was arrested for the crime after police responded to a hit and run on Wayside Drive. Roe is charged with Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  She had allegedly struck mailboxes on Wayside Drive.  A rear-view mirror believed to be from her vehicle was found at the scene.  She was booked into the Security Center without bond.
