Police looking for vehicle and mailbox vandals

–The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is soliciting the public’s help in finding some mailbox vandals.

They put out word on their Facebook page yesterday that the Montgomery Post Office notified them of several mailboxes being damaged by fireworks.  Anyone with information can contact Capt. J.R. Crew at 812-254-1060.  The Sheriff’s Office says they are also working with the US Postal Service Inspector General on the matter.

–In light of recent vandalism, Washington police are advising residents to keep their homes and property lit up as much as possible in the night time hours.

Numerous reports of vehicle vandalism, mainly windows being broken, have been reported all over the city in the past few weekends.  If anyone hears or sees anything they should contact police as soon as they see it.

Patrols have been increased as the investigation into who is responsible continues.
