Old Chicago’s Pizza and Taproom is set to open later this month in downtown Vincennes.
BDE Dining LLC, a company owned by David, Butch and Eric Niehaus bought the historic New Moon Theatre last year and have been conducting a 2.5 million dollar renovation.
This week, David Niehaus went to the Vincennes Board of Zoning Appeals to request a variance for an oversized sign painted on the side of the building.
The Vincennes Sun Commercial says Niehaus learned of a city ordinance prohibiting painted on signs be no larger than 100 square feet after his 252 square foot sign was already painted. The BZA approved the request.
Now Niehaus says they will focus on completing two large lighted signs, which will restore the historic neon marquee on the building.
The pizza restaurant which features 100 craft beers, opens June 25th.
