It’s Spring Cleanup at the Blackfoot Landfill in Pike County. It’s sponsored by the landfill and the Pike County Solid Waste Management District.
Today and tomorrow 8 to 4 and Saturday 8 to Noon, the landfill on State Road 64 east of Arthur, is offering free recycling of appliances, computers and TVs, free collection of household paints, batteries and hazardous waste and free disposal of furniture and other bulky items.
It is for Pike County residents only and proof of residency is required.
Also this year, items that are still in good working condition will be set aside for Pike County residents to go through as they arrive and all items are free.
