It is Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer and the official start of summer travel season.
If you are heading out this weekend or anytime soon, the Indiana Department of Transportation encourages you to “Know Before You Go.”
INDOT officials say it’s a good idea to plan extra travel time, to stay informed on road conditions and drive safely. Most state maintenance activities and construction are suspended for the holiday weekend. Road construction sites will still have reduced speed limits in place.
INDOT reports the only major project in Southwest Indiana to be aware of is the continuing I69 construction between Bloomington and Martinsville where traffic is down to one lane on State Road 37.
