County Engineer resigning

Daviess County is in the market for a new county engineer.  At Tuesday’s meeting, Daviess County Commissioners President, Nathan Gabhart, announced that County Engineer Jason Heile is resigning to take a position with INDOT.

While serving as County Engineer, Heile has overseen most of the construction on the Odon-Cannelburg Road Project, Washington’s 15th Street Bridge Project, and the nearly completed upgrades to County Road 350 E.  In addition, Heile has been responsible for the safety inspections of all the bridges in the County.   Gabhart had this to say about Heile…

In regular business, Heile reported that the Odon-Cannelburg Road Project is nearing completion.

The County Engineer also reported that progress was being made on the north wall of the 15th Street Bridge in Washington.  He told the Commissioners the Bridge should be completed by December 7.

County Highway Superintendent Phil Cornelius reported that the Work in County Road 350 E was 98% complete.         Cornelius also told the Commissioners that it was time to consider a project to submit for next year’s Community Crossing Grant cycle.  Cornelius suggested that an upgrade of County Road 1000 N from Plainville to U.S. 231 be considered.
