This past weekend was a free fishing weekend in Indiana. There are usually three such weekends every spring where adults don’t need a license to fish. The idea is to get people “hooked” on fishing so they will buy a license and continue the sport.
Dylan Sickles with the DNR says licenses helps the state DNR get reimbursements from the federal government to fund a lot of outdoor interests…
Fishing or hunting licenses are $17 each or again you can buy a combo for $25. You can check out the state’s DNR website ( www.in.gov/dnr) for more information and to buy licenses.
The next free fishing weekend in Indiana is June 2nd and 3rd.
