Johnson and Coleman win Pike Co. Sheriff Primaries

        The fall race for Sheriff in Pike County will have Democrat Chief Deputy Kent Johnson against former state trooper, and former mayor of Petersburg Frank Coleman.  Johnson won for the Democrats with 39% of the vote over 2 opponents. 

    Meanwhile,  Coleman won with 66% of the vote over his one opponent.   Coleman says he will need to work hard before the November election in his campaign against Deputy Johnson…

        Other contested races in Pike County…

        The Democrat race for Pike County Commissioner District 2 was Heath Scraper 79%, he will face Republican Mark Flint in the fall who is unopposed.  This is the seat currently held by Brian Davis who isn’t running again.

        For County Council in District 2 Jon Craig, former Petersburg Mayor had nearly 59% of the vote over two opponents.  Currently no democrat is in that race for the fall.

      County Council District 3 incumbent Max Elliot won with 56.5% and no democrat has candidate filed for that seat in the fall.
