One hundred people turned out this past Saturday for the Annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser at Daviess Community Hospital.  The event’s purpose is to raise money for the Oncology program at DCH.

Chief Operating Officer for the hospital, Keith Miller shared the hospital’s plans to renovate space for the growing program including an approved floor plan for the area formerly occupied by Rehab Therapies.  He said the added space will allow patients to have more privacy and to feel more relaxed during exams, consultations, and treatments.

Dr. Thomas Waits, Oncology at OHA in Evansville who sees patients at DCH each week, also spoke saying the services offered here at home are as sophisticated and state-of-the-art as you find in Evansville, Indianapolis and other places.

Officials say that the Daviess Community Hospital Foundation has committed to raising $70,000 for the project over the next several months.
