Gladys Irene Bledsoe 92, of Washington, died, April 30, 2018 in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on February 26, 1926 to Mr. Walter Burton Clemons Sr. and Nellie Wigginton Clemons in Mitchell, Indiana. Gladys graduated from Mitchell High School in 1946. Soon after graduation she married Donald William Bledsoe and began married life in Washington, Indiana.
She was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church prior to attending her current church Beulah AME. She loved singing in the choir and assisting with church activities. Gladys had worked at Uniroyal Rubber Company, Armour Company, and was last employed by the Daviess County Hospital.
Gladys leaves her lovely memory to be cherished by one sister, Eleanora Coleman of California two daughters, Donna Bledsoe of Evansville, Indiana and Diana Bledsoe of Sterling Heights, Michigan; four grandchildren; Jason Hardiman, Earl Martin, and Randy & Michael Mitchell; and four great grandchildren; Jalen, Jayden, Justice and Lukai.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca (Bledsoe) Mitchell; and one brother Walter (Junie) Clemons, Jr.
Visitation will be Saturday May 5, 2018 at Beulah AME Church, 805 W. Walnut St., Washington, IN at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will start at 1:00p.m. with Reverend Angela Carter officiating. Interment will be in Mitchell Indiana at a later date.
