900 East, 15th Street Bridge and Annex all moving forward

The Daviess County Commissioners this morning heard updates on several projects.

County Engineer Jason Heili says concrete is being laid at the Shiloh Church on the County Road 900-East Project and headed north.  Shoulder paving in the area is set for next week.  On the 15th Street Bridge Project Heili says they are drilling abutments and setting piles.

Courthouse Annex Project Owners Representative Mike Shakpker said excavating continues at the worksite and contractors are solving groundwater infiltration.  He also said they’ll need to work more to arrange a better staging area for construction workers. A low bid from RTC communications was accepted for over $66,000 to run Ethernet at the new Annex. The cost was $130 per run with over 500 runs anticipated in the building.

Also today, the commissioners accepted the low bid from Lochmueller Group on a proposal to study constructing a walkway on Highway 57 south to Wal-Mart.  Before any final decisions are made on going forward with the study an inter-local agreement will need to be reached with the city of Washington.
