A long-term strategic plan focused on the Pike County I-69 Interchange has been unveiled.

The plan was started last year and includes a portion of the massive Southwest Indiana Megasite. In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Pike County Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Ashley Willis says the potential for the site is endless.  She says the target is what she calls “generational change, a development for sectors and industries including manufacturing, warehousing and healthcare.  She added that Pike County’s plan is different from surrounding counties because of the amount of acres available for development. She says the 4,000 acres are a combination of properties from 10 different land owners.  Willis says it’s a long term plan and just because earth isn’t moving around the State Road 61 interchange doesn’t mean things are not happening.

The Pike County EDC  is a partner in the plan along with Bowman Family Holdings which owns the 8,000 acre megasite, and a planning team consisting of Midwest Engineers, global firm AECOM and Indy-based Rundell Entsgerger Associates as well as local city and county officials.
