A Tell City man, who wore an ankle monitor, cut it off and left Perry County yesterday but was captured near the Dubois County Highway Garage.

Dubois County authorities report that 31-year-old David Templin was charged last month with Impersonating an Officer, Resisting Law Enforcement, Unlawful Use of a Police Radio, and Obstruction of Medical Personnel.  Police say he had threatened police in the past and was known to be carrying a weapon.

Templin was tracked through his cell phone going toward Jasper from Tell City about 10:22-am Wednesday.  About 1:30, the Lincoln Town Car that Templin was believed to be driving was spotted near the Dubois County Highway Garage by a deputy. Templin was stopped and taken into custody.

He was carrying a 9mm handgun.  Rifles, ammunition, camping gear and food were found in the car.  He was taken back to Perry County.
