With great sadness, the family of Frederick Lee Froeschke announces his passing on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the age of 78, after a brief hospitalization. Fred is lovingly remembered by Judy, his wife of 56 years, their children Jamie Steimel and her husband Jay, David Froeschke and his wife Becca, and Fred’s 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his sister Dixie Croxton and her husband Jim, his brother Joe Froeschke and his wife Wilma, his sisters-in-law Judy Kay Froeschke, Janet Neff and her husband Jerry, Karen Miller and her husband Jim, Sarah Bilskie and her husband Larry, brother-in-law Charlie Cantwell and his wife Cheryl, and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucille Froeschke, and brother Tom.
Fred attended St. Peter Lutheran School and graduated from Decker High School in 1957. He graduated from Vincennes University and then attended Indiana University. Together with his wife, he owned and operated Froeschke’s Produce Market for the past 25 years until his retirement in 2010. He took great enjoyment in raising beautiful flowers for the market.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 15 from 4 – 8 pm at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, and on Monday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 6990 S. Decker Road, Vincennes on Monday, April 16 at 10:30 am with Pastor Nathan Rastl officiating. Burial following at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan Hospice. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
