Sharon Rose “Rosie” Killion

Sharon Rose “Rosie” Killion 75, of Washington went to her heavenly home on Friday evening at Select Specialty Hospital, Evansville, IN while surrounded by her loving family.

Rosie was born in Washington, IN to the late Harley G. Killion Sr. and Mary “Molly” (Davis) Killion, on October 11, 1942. She was reared in Veale Township as part of the Aikman Creek Community and attended Whittier School. Rosie attended Aikman Creek Church as a young woman. After her mother passed, she resided with her sister Joan Holstine. She spent 24 years in Cornettsville, IN and attended Cornettsville United Methodist Church.

Rosie moved from her sister Joan’s in 1997, and began living in the Group Home Environment. Rosie enjoyed spending time with family and newfound friends at Four Rivers and the Red Door. She had a big heart and a love for all she met, as was evident by her infectious smile and hugs. She had a love for animals and was a caring person, with a sweet and gentle spirit. She loved shopping, music, and especially enjoyed the holidays. Her spare time included watching TV, doing crafts, coloring, bowling, swimming, and going to the movies.

Rosie leaves behind two brothers, Donald Killion (Ann), and Richard Killion (Carol) of Washington and a sister, Shirley Joan Holstine of Cornettsville, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Harold Killion, Harley Killion Jr., Hugh Killion, Jerry Killion, Lester Killion, infant David Killion; 2 sisters, Wanda Killion and Sandra Meade.

Rosie touched many lives and will be missed by all.

Family will be receiving visitors on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 4pm until 8pm at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St. Washington, IN 47501. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11 am also at the funeral home with a visitation from 10 am until time of service. Burial will follow in Aikman Creek Cemetery.
