Walter Tedrow, 85, of Loogootee, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, IN surrounded by his family.

He was born in Rutherford Township on December 21, 1932 to Ivan and Lola (Parsons) Tedrow.

Walter was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean conflict 1953-1955. He was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge – White River Lodge #332, and a former cub scouts leader. He was a member of the Loogootee Christian Church. Walter retired as an Explosive Operator Foreman from CAAA after 33 years of employment. He married Galelah (Arvin) Tedrow on March 8, 1953 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Wayne Tedrow; his parents, Ivan and Lola (Parsons) Tedrow; his siblings, Vernon Tedrow, Edward (Helen) Tedrow, Robert Tedrow, Milford Tedrow, George Raymond Tedrow, Dean Tedrow, Lueverdia (Walter) Chattin, and Ruth (Herald) Neideffer.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Galelah Tedrow, of Loogootee; his daughter, Shanan (Keith) Bradley, of Martinsville; his grandchildren, Tina Carmer, Veronica Tedrow, Jolene (Marcos) Munoz; his great- grandchildren, Elijah (Breanna) Carmer, Landon, Cameron, Dakota, and Alexis Carmer, Antonio and Joseph Vega, Jordan Ja’nay and Jolee Rosalia Munoz; his brother, Dale (Alice) Tedrow of French Lick; his sister- in- law, Goldie Tedrow, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be conducted at Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00  at Blake Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Loogootee American Legion Post 120.
