Rivers Still Rising

Flood warnings remain in effect along the area’s rivers.  They are expected to rise and crest at 6 to 8 feet above flood stage at various locations.

          The White at Edwardsport was at around 21 feet according to the National Weather Service’s Hydrologic Prediction Service.   Flood stage is 16 feet.  It’s expected to rise to 25.2 Thursday morning and start to fall.        

          The Wabash at Vincennes was at 18.2 feet and rising. It’s expected to crest early Saturday at 26.1 feet. 

          The East Fork at Shoals is over two feet above flood stage at 22.3 and will rise to 26 feet for a crest on Friday morning.

          Roads closed due to the flooding are State Road 257 at the Daviess/Pike County line, and 358 at the Daviess/Knox County line.

          In Greene County, 43 is closed from 54 to 48 and 157 from Worthington to Bloomfield is closed.

          In Gibson County 64 between 357 and 61 is closed and 65 is closed between 64 and 168.

          Be on the look out for high water or washed out roads wherever you are driving and don’t drive through flooded road ways.
