The Washington Golden Pride has been improving and growing in recent years. The Washington School Board heard a report on the band at their Thursday meeting.
Band Director Brandon Hogan reported a major jump in the program with 38 students enrolled. Band Booster member Scott Arthur told the Board that the Boosters have spent about $35,000 on program assistance and buying new instruments for the growing enrollment and to replace old damaged instruments
Band members Noah Meece, Alsace Key, Macy Brandenburg, Jay Jones, and Trey Key told the Board about the opportunities in the Band program. Jones demonstrated one of the new saxophones purchased by the Band Boosters
