The Daviess County Council on Wednesday approved the funding for the new Daviess County Courthouse Annex. They voted to use $4 million dollars from the General Fund and a half-million each from the Riverboat and Economic Development Tax Funds for the down payment. Earlier this week the commissioners chose the low bidder to build the building at around $5.6 million along with an alternate bid to stone on the outside façade. Five million is being paid for by the county and 3 million will be bonded over 15 years.
Groundbreaking is slated for next month.
