Shirley P. Cornelius, 81, of Washington, IN, went to her Heavenly Home on February 5, 2018. She was born on September 3, 1936 in Elnora, IN to Daniel and Eulah (Smith) McCullough. She attended Epsom Schools. Shirley was a Homemaker and worked on the farm until age 81 when she took her first job at Premier Flooring in Washington. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Cornettsville and she was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking for family, caring for children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a green thumb and loved working in her flowers and yard. her door was always open to friends and family.
Shirley is survived by her children Kathy Fears (Tim) and Kenneth “Kenny” Cornelius; grandchildren Misty Kelsey (Jon Conkle), Christina Kuhs (Brian), Joe Hawkins, Jacey Fears (Bryce Manning), Wesley Cornelius (Abby), and Lori Webb (David); great grandchildren Bryce Cornelius, Brenden Cornelius, Briley Cornelius, Brienna Cornelius, Presli Webb, Parker Webb, Charlie Sue Kuhs, Bethany Kuhs, Garbrielle Kuhs, Lacy Sheeley, Celena Yeakle; siblings Daniel McCullough (Kaye), Don McCullough (Judy), Carolyn Armes, and Kay Keith (Gary). She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Phyllis Overton.
The funeral for Shirley will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11am at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501 with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Plainville Cemetery. Online condolences may be made www.gillsince1872.com.
