HCI Community Forum set for Tomorrow

Washington area residents are invited and encouraged to attend a public forum tomorrow on the Hometown Collaboration Initiative or HCI.  It’s a state program developed by the Indiana Office of Community Affairs, along with Purdue and Ball State Universities.  Cities of 25,000 people or less have to apply to be a part of the program and a team from Leadership Daviess County spearheaded the application. Their hard work paid off as Washington was chosen as one of the few cities to be involved.

Cindy Barber has been a part of the project from the beginning.  She explains HCI looks at what a community has and what’s needed in the realms of qualify of life, leadership and the economy….

Of the surveys that were sent out, 848 were returned and again those surveys will be discussed at tomorrow night’s forum.   It will be held at the Harvest Community Fellowship Church, which is the old St. Mary’s School on Main Street.  It starts at 6pm.
