Camilla ‘Millie’ Overton, 82, of Odon, Indiana, went to Heaven, peacefully, on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Washington. She was born in Martin County, Indiana on June 11, 1935 to Harley H. and Alice (Smith) Beasley. Millie married James Overton on October 26, 1960.

Millie was a member of the Frady United Methodist Church. She earned her undergraduate at Indiana Central and her Masters at Indiana State University before becoming a teacher until her retirement in 1996. Millie liked to crochet and enjoyed collecting things.

Survivors include: two nieces that lived with her, Alice Ann and Ray Simmons of Plainville and Cathern and Howard Nellist of Elkhart, IN; great nephews, Matthew and Angela Simmons of Lafayette, Brian and Shannon Simmons of Monroe City, Bradley and Katie Nellist of Greenwood and Michael Nellist of Elkhart; several other nieces and nephews; two brothers, Calvin and Betty Beasley and Ronnie and Diane Beasley, both of Odon and sister-in-law, Dixie (Gary) Beasley of Odon.

Millie was preceded in death by: her parents, Alice (Smith) Beasley and Harley H. Beasley; her husband, James Overton; brothers, Wallace Beasley, Gary Beasley, John Beasley and John Edwin Taylor; sisters, Gertrude Kemp, Ava Gee, Irene Sims and Geraldine Harris.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Frady United Methodist Church in Raglesville with Pastor Gwen Pew officiating. Millie will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 28 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frady United Methodist Church or the Todd Beasley Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
