James “Jim” Lee Cummings, 83, of Washington, IN, went to his Heavenly Home on January 23, 2018 from Daviess Community Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 12, 1935 in Washington, IN to Read Joseph and Dorothy Agnes (Greenwell) Cummings. He was a 1953 graduate from Washington High School and attended Indiana University. On August 20, 1954, he married the love of his life, Joetta Sue (West) Cummings. He was a farmer and a truck driver. Jim served in the National Guard. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church. His grandchildren were very special to him.
Jim is survived by his children Mikki Graber (Gordon), Minda McPherson (Jim), Jamie Miller (Craig), and Joe Cummings (Marla); and grandchildren: Tyson Graber, Logan Graber, Tucker McPherson, Cody Cummings, Tasha Raymond, Tanner McPherson, Haylee Helms, Case Cummings, Terrell Stoll, Taylor Harner, Cori Stroup, Clay Cummings; and great grandchildren: Dawson Graber, Brycen Graber, Kayden Graber, Dieken Graber, Declan Graber, Lanie Graber, Drake Graber, Eden McPherson, Adrian Cummings, Owen McPherson, Ezney Helms, Brant Raymond, Lilly Cummings, Noah Cummings, Dayli Graber, Brecklyn Raymond, Adlee Cummings, Lyric Cummings, Benson McPherson, Preslee Cummings, Macie Graber, Lincoln McPherson, Ezelia Helms, Leah Cummings, and
Archer McPherson. He is preceded by his parents and wife Joetta Sue Cummings.
The funeral for Jim will take place on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10am at Antioch Christian Church with his grandsons Pastor Tyson Graber, Tanner McPherson, and Andrew Raymond officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Antioch Christian Church from 4-8pm. Interment will follow the funeral service at Bethany Cemetery.
