Gwendolyn Jeannette King Brown, 83, was taken home to her Lord at 7:20 A.M. Sunday, January 14, 2018. Jeannette was born on June 14, 1934 in Webster County, KY to Franklin A. and Daisy E. King. She attended school in Clay, KY and received her GED in Washington, IN. She married Arthur L. Brown on June 26, 1951 in Sturgis, KY. Jeannette was a member of First Christian Church in Washington, IN. She was a mother and a homemaker. Jeannette enjoyed gardening flowers, going to church, painting, and drawing. She also took part in the Legends Bible Study Group. She loved to talk to friends, family, and anybody willing to pull up a chair and listen.

Jeannette is survived by her children: Phillip Brown (Alice) of Nebraska, David Brown (Terri) of Oolitic, Deena Whaley (Bob) of Winslow, and Paul Joseph “P.J.” Brown of Louisville, KY; grandchildren: Ky Porter (Kevin), Mike Brown, Nicholas Whaley, Nicholas Wininger (Lee Ann), Maggie Garby, Melanie Clark (Aaron), and Anne Lins (Thiago); and great grandchildren: Mya Spalding, Gabriel “Gabe” Groover, Isaac Groover, Henry Garby, Adeline Brown, Holden Wininger, and Hadley Wininger. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Brown, her parents, and three half sisters Ruth Ball, Nadine Marshall, and Peggy Kavanaugh.

The funeral for Jeannette will take place on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 12pm at Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will take place at the Mausoleum prior to the service from 10am-12pm. Online condolences may be made at www.gillsince1872.com.
