Roy Lee Harris Sr, 83, of Montgomery, went to his Heavenly Home on January 2, 2018 from Daviess Community Hospital. He was born on November 21, 1934 in Harper, Kansas to Howard and Emma Marie (Forpahl) Harris. On February 6, 1973, he married the late Betty (Pickitt) Harris. He retired from Boeing Aircraft as an aviation mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and working on farm equipment.
Roy is survived by his companion Myrtle Clements; children Kathy Norris, Cheryl Stone, and James “Jimmy” Harris; step daughter Betty Jean Whalen; sister Sharon Grider; family member Rachel Cole Harris; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Harris; son Roy Harris Jr.; step son-in-law Don Whalen; and sisters Betty Ouellette and Loretta Bursch.
The funeral for Roy will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1pm at Gill Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11-1pm.
