Charles Ralph Akester, 95, of Washington, IN, went to his Heavenly Home on January 1, 2018 from Daviess Community Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1922 in Hudsonville, IN to Charlie F. and Ruth (Stone) Akester. He was a 1941 graduate from Glendale High School. On November 22, 1980 he married Beverly E. (McMillin) Akester. He worked for B&O Railroad , U.S. Railway, and also retired as a farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington.
Charles is survived by his wife Beverly Akester; son Roger Akester (Barbara); daughter Anne Akester; grandchildren Roger Lee Akester II (Becky), Lisa Michelle Williams (Tom), and Charles Andrew Akester (Katherine); and great grandchildren Bryanna Wells, Natalie Wells, Roger Lee Akester III, Anna Kay Williams, Reid Williams, and Evelyn Akester. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Bonnie (Grow) Akester; sisters Lucille Osmon, Helen Armes, Mary Gregory, Elaine Hunter, and Eileen Carrico and brothers Arnold Akester, Donald Akester, and Rev. Thomas E. Akester.
