In their final meeting  of 2017, the Washington Community School Board heard from    Facilities Manager Rose Wilson who reported on recent water tests funded by the State of Indiana.   Wilson said the State conducted tests on 191 water faucets at the six Washington schools and the Sports Complex.  Wilson said the City’s water supply tested pure at all sites.  However, Wilson said that 12 of the 191 water faucets tested slightly higher than 15 particles per one billion.  Those faucets were seldom or never used water outlet and only showed slight problems when initially turned on.  None were drinking fountains used by students or staff.  Wilson told the Board one of the faucets was at the Sports Complex; one was at Lena Dunn, 2 at Griffith, and 7 at North, and one at the Junior High.  Wilson emphasized that all the faucets tested OK after water had ran through the faucets for 30 seconds.   Some of the little used faucets will be replaced, while others will be permanently removed.

In other matters…The Board accepted the resignation of High School English teacher Bobbi Carter and approved the hiring of Meghan Franklin to fill the position.  The Board also approved hiring Andrea Frady as an aide at North and Beverly Bouchie to fill a medical leave at Griffith.
