Jasper has been re-certified in the Indiana Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (INSHARP).  They’ve maintained that certification for  over 14 years.  State Labor Department Commissioner Rick Ruble says   Jasper has demonstrated excellence in proactively eliminating or limiting workplace safety and health hazards, reducing worker injuries, and protecting city employees.

Jasper was the first Hoosier workplace to achieve the certification, and as such, it the longest certified site in Indiana. Alos, the city is the only public sector organization that has achieved INSHARP.

Jasper’s most recent workplace injury and illness rate was nearly half the national industry average.
