Betty Jean Salmon age 77, of Odon, formally of Shoals, passed away at her residence on December 13, 2017 at 2:08PM. She was born September 30, 1939 in Martin County to Samuel Roscoe and Minnie Viola (Probasco) Butler. She married Delbert Ray Salmon on January 26, 1957 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2011.
She was homemaker and was baptized by the Church of Christ in Elnora.
Seven children survive, Rosetta Hopper of Odon, Ray Dean Salmon (Mary Jo Mullins) of Odon, Sandra Arthur of Odon, Anita (Dave) Letterman of Shoals, Roger Salmon (Amy) of Loogootee, Bonny Salmon of Odon and Synthia Blevins of Odon; two sisters, Ruth Holman of Shoals, Jane Crowe of French Lick; two brothers, Samuel Butler of French Lick, Leroy Butler of Tennessee; thirty grandchildren and many great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Delbert Lee Salmon Sr; son-in-law Kenny Arthur; two sisters, Elsie Butler and Fern Taylor; a brother, Roscoe Butler; two grandchildren, Steven Holt and Anthony Steven Salmon; two great-great grandchildren Mackenzie Salmon and Caden Crisp.
Visitation will be held Saturday December 16, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with a funeral service to follow at 1:00PM. Pastor Dan Ford is officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
