A man accused of beating a Sullivan County woman and causing her death has accepted a plea agreement. Joshua Hall appeared in court Friday morning where he admitted he’s responsible for the death of Rustin Rehmel.

Investigators say Hall and Rehmel were fighting outside a Farmersburg bar and the confrontation became violent. Then Rehmel was later found dead inside the home the two shared in Shelburn. An autopsy determined Rehmel died from a blow to the head.  The incident occurred in August of 2016.

He was sentenced to 16 years of aggravated battery and five years for involuntary manslaughter. He will serve them concurrently. Hall was credited for 478 days for time served.
