New Councilman Will Be Voted On Wednesday

        Daviess County Democrat Chairman has named who will be the successor to Joe Fleck on the Washington City Council.  Fleck resigned last month after moving out of the district her served for over 20 years.

        Democrat Chair Ron Critchlow says the lone candidate to be voted on in a caucus this week is local west side store owner Doug Campton.  Critchlow told the  Washington Times Herald  Campton has had interest in being on the council before but didn’t want to oppose Fleck.  Nominations for the seat were closed on December 1st so Wednesday, two precinct committeemen will likely cast their votes for Campton.

        On Monday the Democrats have a regular meeting and will be talking about the caucus as well as the 2018 election.  All Democrats and Independents are welcome to the 6-pm Monday at the Washington Eagles.
