29,000 New Jobs for Indiana

This year was record breaking for economic development in our state.

Since the year began, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation has secured 270 commitments from businesses in and out of our state to grow or locate in Indiana. Together, they plan to create nearly 29,000 new Hoosier jobs that have an average hourly wage of $27.38, which is more than 27 percent higher than Indiana’s average wage.

Some of the companies planning to develop or locate in Indiana are Infosys, Axiscades, HMD Trucking, Beijing West Industries and Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Indiana.

These job commitments are great news for Indiana, and will help our state’s economy continue to grow and thrive.

Senate Page Program
Applications Available

The Indiana Senate is now accepting applications for the Senate Page Program.

Paging gives students in grades six through 12 the opportunity to meet with their state senator, tour the Indiana Statehouse, observe session debates, and assist staff with age-appropriate tasks.

The 2018 Senate Page Program will run from mid-January through early March. Positions fill quickly, so it is important to sign up early.

Pages are scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session, while groups serve together on Wednesdays. Students begin their day at 8:30 a.m. and dismiss at 3:30 p.m.
