Hit and Run Leads to Chase and Arrest

           Washington City Police have charged a local man with numerous traffic and other crimes after an accident.  

             24-year-old Raymond Moore was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash, Operating While Intoxicated with Endangerment, Operating While Intoxicated Refusal, Resisting Law Enforcement and Battery.  At about 3:30pm, city police  received a report of a hit and run accident and found the suspect vehicle on East National Highway near Casey’s.  After a short car chase,  the vehicle stopped near Countryside Towing and Moore was taken into custody.  He was jailed without bond.

         In a separate incident Tuesday, Washington Police investigated a theft at a Cherry Tree Plaza business.  At just before 7 a man was reported to have stolen 2 North Face jackets worth a total of $200.   He walked in, took the jackets and ran out.  He was described as a white man standing 6 feet tall, bald with a goatee.   He left in a a dark rusty colored truck being driven by an unknown blonde woman.  The vehicle was last seen turning right toward Casey’s on National Highway.
